Most surfaces got stripped to bare wood.
The acrylic/urethane sealer restored the wood surface,
but the wood was badly cracked and gapped:
A high bonding elastic filler is applied:
Then two full coats of eggshell Duration:

There seems to be a couple dozen repairs of
this sort needed on every house I restore.
Waterproof, permanent polyurethane sealant
is used in all joints, followed by sanding
to create a seamless appearance:
Same clients -- third floor plaster
and woodwoork restoration.
I created this new post and rail structure
from parts found at Bauer Brothers:
